Have you ever felt so desperate that you thought about asking others for help, but hesitated because you were afraid of being seen as a beggar? Asking for charity from others is a sensitive matter in Islam. Generally, it is not encouraged, but there are certain conditions under which a person is permitted to do so.
When Is It Permissible to Ask Others for Charity?
Words of the Prophetﷺ
Whoever keeps begging from others will come on the Day of Judgment without a single piece of flesh on their face.

Three Conditions That Permit Asking for Charity Rasulullah (ﷺ) said: “Begging is not permissible except in three cases: (1) someone who assumes responsibility for another's debt, he may beg until he pays it off,(2) someone who suffers a calamity that destroys his wealth, he may beg until he secures a livelihood, and (3) someone who is struck by severe poverty such that three sensible people from his community testify, 'So-and-so has truly been struck by hardship,' then it is permissible for him to beg until he obtains a livelihood.Begging beyond these three cases is forbidden, and whoever consumes it is consuming what is forbidden.”
Through this hadith, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said it's permissible to ask for help "until obtaining a means of livelihood or until the debt is paid off", not forever.This means asking for help is allowed as temporary assistance until that person can stand on their own feet again. Not to become dependent or a professional beggar.The goal is to empower them, not to make them more dependent.
