Many people think worship is only prayer, fasting, and charity. Yet, providing for your family is an act of worship with immense reward. Every dollar you spend on your wife and children, every effort to earn a living, is all recorded as righteous deeds. This is the beauty of Islam, even your everyday responsibilities can lead you to Paradise.

Providing for Family is Charity When a Muslim provides for his family with the intention of earning Allah's reward, it is considered charity.

Providing for Your Family is the Best Form of Charity Among the dinars you spend in the path of Allah, or to free a slave, or to give in charity to the poor, or to provide for your family, the dinar with the greatest reward is that which you spend on your family.

Kindness to Your Family Protects You from Hellfire Narrated by Aisyah (Radiallahu Anha): A woman came to me with her two daughters begging for food. I had nothing but one date to give her. She took it and split it between her two daughters without eating any herself. Then she stood up and left. Later, the Prophet (ﷺ) arrived and I told him what happened. He said: "Whoever is tested by having daughters and treats them well with kindness and generosity, those daughters will protect him from Hellfire."
